On Friday 25 April, our students were very excited to meet professional footballer Jude Stirling who came to visit Harmood.

The students listened with interest as Jude shared his experience of starting out in the grassroots academy, Broadwater Farm Football Academy (Tottenham). He talked about how he was able to navigate a professional career coming from an estate that was stigmatised, with the support of his father and the community around him.

Before he became a professional football, he focused on being professional in all aspects of his life – from simply washing plates at home after use to the using of appropriate language. His approach paid off and he has enjoyed a long career as a professional footballer.
