World of Work visit from the Police Marine Unit - The Marine Policing Unit came in to speak to our students about their and other jobs provided by the Metropolitan Police. They brought along one of their boats for the students to look at. The event was a good way of showing our students there are many career paths within the police. 

This term one of our year 10 students completed her placement at the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Club. During her three days, she mucked out, groomed and bathed horses. On the last day she was lucky enough to shadow a qualified Vet, they checked the mouths and teeth of all 17 horses at the stables. 

Additionally the student was able to pay a visit to Kentish Town City farm for an animal petting session, she got up close and personal with a goat and managed to secure another work placement in year 11. This term we say goodbye to our Connexions worker; Tina Mahone. Tina has been with us for five years offering the KS4 students personal careers guidance and the KS3 students careers exploration advice. We thank her for all her hard work and wish her all the best moving forward. Tina will be replaced by Chris Luard, he is currently the Connexions worker for Haverstock and will be supporting Harmood from September work.
