Posted on: 15th Jul 2026
Our students recently enjoyed a fantastic reward trip to Brighton to celebrate an incredible achievement in Science.
This year, our year 10s successfully completed their BTEC Applied Science Level 1 qualification a full year early, an outstanding accomplishment that reflects their hard work, resilience and commitment throughout the course. As part of their final assessment, students were challenged to design and build their own wind turbines, applying their scientific knowledge to a real-world engineering task.
To bring their learning to life, we took the students to Brighton to see wind energy in action and explore how renewable energy plays a vital role in the world around us. Seeing a wind farm first-hand helped students make meaningful connections between their classroom learning and real-life applications of science. The trip was a huge success. Students were engaged, enthusiastic and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was wonderful to celebrate their achievements together and recognise the progress they have made, not only academically, but also in confidence, teamwork and independence.
